Distributed Energy Resources for Resilience
EBCE will select a vendor to install Distributed Energy Resources such as solar and battery storage in homes and businesses throughout our service territory. If you are interested in participating, EBCE will contact you with program details when the program launches.
Net Energy Metering Incentive
All solar customers will be enrolled in EBCE’s Net Energy Metering (NEM) rate, which is substantially similar to PG&E’s NEM rate. EBCE provides an additional incentive to low income and municipal customers who have installed a solar system after 6/1/18 (full retail credit plus $0.01/kilowatt-hour (kWh) for every solar kWh exported to the grid).
Battery Energy Storage Demand Response Pilot
To reduce peak energy procurement costs, EBCE is offering customers with existing battery energy storage systems and operators/aggregators of those systems the opportunity to participate in this pilot program. Systems that discharge power during peak energy periods will receive compensation from EBCE.
Energy Efficiency Data
EBCE has invested in a powerful database that enables administrators and implementers of energy efficiency, demand response, and energy management programs to access information that increases building upgrades in Alameda County. This data is also valuable to EBCE’s local government partners who are developing greenhouse gas inventories.
EBCE is committed to the electrification of the built environment and transportation sector to meet California’s climate action goals. In support of our local government partners developing supportive codes, EBCE is providing technical assistance and a $10,000 grant to communities that successfully pass reach codes that would be implemented by January 1, 2020.
Community Innovation Grants
The Community Innovation Grant will award funding to community-based organizations for projects designed to deliver energy-related social and environmental benefits to residents of Alameda County. Proposed projects will be evaluated based on criteria that assess an application’s alignment with EBCE’s goals and mission.
